Modern Day Airline Captain re-unites with ex girlfriend and becomes embroiled in the mystery of a secret World War 2 weapon that went wrong. Can they unravel the mystery of the weapon, the jewels and the ghost stations of London's underground. Can a quantum weapon have accidentally been developed in 1940. Approximately 90% of the science and history in this book is based on fact.
Was Einstein wrong and why have so few people heard of Nikola Tesla, probably one of the world's greatest electrical scientists.
What actually happened in the Regalion Bunker in 1940 and why was it sealed for ever.

I won't summarize what the book is about, as the 3/16/15 reviewer has done a good job of that. Rather, I'll concentrate on why I think this book is only a 3 star read. On the plus side, the premise is very interesting and the plot develops in such a way as to hold your attention the whole way through. You definitely do want to keep turning the pages to see what will happen. However, many of the characters are not fleshed out. There is not enough physical description and you don't get much "internal dialogue", so some of them don't come across as real people. Many of the conversations seem cliched. Mr. Murray is better at describing action than he is handling dialogue. I have an interest in quantum mechanics and Einstein and Tesla, but in the last half of the book the author devotes too many pages to describing the latest theories on dark energy and dark matter, parallel universes, unified field theory, etc. ( And the same information is given multiple times, by different characters, at length.) During some stretches you start to wonder, "Am I reading a novel or am I receiving a science lesson?" Another problem is that the book wasn't edited very well. There are many typos, quotation marks and commas where there shouldn't be, awkwardly written sentences, and so on. All of the things I have mentioned above detract from the enjoyment of the book. So, even though the plot is exciting and holds your interest I can only give "Regalion" a lukewarm thumbs-up.Product details
